If you’re looking for a way to add some pizzazz to your WordPress website, you may want to consider using the parallax scrolling effect. This effect creates a 3D illusion by moving different elements of the page at different speeds, which can make your website more visually appealing and engaging for visitors. In this article, we will show you how to add parallax scrolling to your website using WordPress. Let’s get started!

What is the Parallax scrolling effect?

The parallax scrolling effect is a web design technique where the background moves at a different rate than the foreground. This can give a 3D type effect where objects appear to be floating on top of the web page. This can create a more engaging and immersive browsing experience for the user. Parallax can be achieved using CSS and/or javascript.

Interestingly parallax is not a new concept. In fact, Disney used it quite extensively on some of their first films. They invented a camera called a multiplane camera that allowed a number of artwork pieces to move past the camera at various speeds and at various distances from one another. This created the Parallax effect and gave a sense of depth to the scenes.

The parallax scrolling effect can be used with text and images, over multiple elements. The example below shows the effect with multiple elements. Just scroll up and down over the page to see the effect properly – you won’t notice it if you are not scrolling.
