A few years ago, my family started a Secret Santa (or kris kringle) amongst my sibling’s children for Christmas. With two children, five nieces and two nephews, it was getting a little ridiculous with how many gifts had to be purchased and received between everybody. So now each of the cousins gets another cousin to buy and gift for, and each receives one present each year. To do this, I originally wrote a simple Perl script to randomly decided who gets who. But this year I’ve turned that script into a little node.js app for all to enjoy. It’s only the MVP for now, but I have plans to expand on the functionality as time permits and improve it each year.
